In 1996, John Chen's company, H.J. Resources, Inc., began the development and construction of the Knolls Condominiums, a 46-unit one and two bedroom condominium project located on the 15th and 16th fairways of the Plum Creek Country Club. The development attracted many young first-time home buyers as well as a large number of retired individuals by offering an affordable country club living experience. Condominium units were priced from $90,000 to $135,000 and sold out within eighteen months
